Member only talk presented by David Brand

Sunday 7 March, 4:00pm
Army and Navy Club (upstairs)
88 Acland Street, St Kilda

David Brand is writing a social history of Marli Place, the stately terrace that has graced St Kilda’s Esplanade for over 160 years. For almost a quarter of that time, David has made it his home.

As one of the city’s most renowned residential landmarks, and said to be Melbourne’s fourth oldest surviving terrace, Marli has been emblematic of the history of St Kilda itself – in its architectural evolution and in the remarkable stream of people who’ve lived in it through the decades.

Hear what David already knows about this notable building, and where his research might take him.  You probably already know people who used to live there.  David will be wanting to pick your brain …

David Brand is an architect, historian, and former City of Port Phillip Councillor.
