Wickliffe, engraving

This fine classical house was stood on the Esplanade, the prime street in St Kilda overlooking the bay. Wickliffe was built for John Dickson Wyelaskie who was a higly successful parstoralist in the Western District. It was demolished in the 1970's and the land is now occupied by Arrandale, one of the last high rises to be built along the foreshore.

Other Names 1912 Converted to Cafe and open air theatre called Arcadia. home of The Dandies troupe.
Date Built Circa 1873
First owner John Dickson Wyselaskie of "Narrapumelap" Wickliffe  near Bunninyong in the Western Districk. "Narrapumelap' fell into ruin but has been extensively restored with beatutiful gardens and operates as a Bed and Breakfast.
