Members of the Society are cordially invited to the launch of a new book. Middle Park – from Swamp to Suburb - the second book published by the Middle Park History Group. The first, The Heart of Middle Park, proved very popular and has reprinted many times. The new book begins with the area's geographic history, and traces the development of the early swamps and lagoons into the suburb that is today's Middle Park.
The Hon. Simon Crean, former leader of the Australian Labor Party will be officiating the launch.

History of Live Theatre in St Kilda; from early days to the present.
Patricia Convery will take us on a walk along the Esplanade exploring the many sites of former and current theatres.
A number of theatre companies have been part of the entertainment scene in St Kilda, with some well-known personalities (e.g. Mary Hardy, Barry Kosky, Pat Hanna) being associated with these ventures.
